Baumert-Brock Reunion held

The descendants of the Oscar and Bessie Baumert and the Horatio and Matilda Brock families met for their annual reunion, Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Hinshaw Shelter in Richland, IA. There were 42 in attendance. Following the blessing by Gene Baumert, a bountiful, cooperative dinner was enjoyed by all.

Those in attendance were Kirby and Debi Baumert of Jamestown, MO; Roger and Belinda Baumert of Winfield, IA; Joe Baumert of Des Moines, IA; Paul Baumert Jr. of Ankeny, IA; Brock Baumert of Kansas City, MO; Theresa Devereaux of Denver, CO; Justin, Jenny, Jordan and Jonah Baumert of Victor, IA; Shelley Baumert of Cedar Rapids, IA; Jaydynn and Jordynn Baumert of Cedar Rapids, IA; Larry Baumert of Marion, IA; Loretta Streigle of Sigourney, IA; Aaron Streigle of Sigourney, IA; Joanne Baumert of Sigourney, IA; Ronald Baumert of Sigourney, IA; Colleen Goldman of Sigourney, IA; Patty and Peter Hammes of Sigourney, IA; Cheryl Steffen of Ottumwa, IA; Sue and Pat Pfannebecker of Hedrick, IA; Amanda, Dave, Aidan, Wyatt and Lathan Smothers of Millersburg, IA; Maverick Hervey of Hedrick, IA; Samantha and Conor O'Neill and Bentlee Rush of Rose Hill, IA; Rich and Chris Baumert of Delta, IA; Tracy Baumert of Washington, IA; Dennis and Judy Baumert of Keota, IA; Gene Baumert of Keota, IA; and Kathy Brower of Richland, IA. Special guests were Abby and Rose the dogs.

Loretta Streigle was the eldest in attendance and her great-grandson Conor O’Neill (less than two weeks old) was the youngest. Traveling from furthest away was Marjean Brasic of Carrollton, TX. A thinking-of-you/get well card was signed for Margaret Burk of Bucklin, MO and Irene Baumert of Burlington, IA; A guessing game was played and Paul Baumert Jr. was named the winner, being closest to the correct number of M&M's. Bingo with prizes was played and visiting rounded out the day.

The 2024 reunion will be held, the second Sunday in July (which will be the 14th) at the Hinshaw Shelter in Richland, IA.
