Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is holding a Bus Tour to Reiman Gardens on Saturday, Feb. 7 to visit Orchid Fest. Participants will gather at the fairgrounds that morning and will leave the Extension Office at 7:30 a.m. on a bus, stopping first in downtown Pella for a quick break and snack. We will continue on to Ames to spend the morning and early afternoon exploring Reiman Gardens, Orchid Fest, and the Butterfly Wing. Lunch from Hickory Park will be provided, along with a Q&A session with a Horticulture specialist from Iowa State University. On the way home, we will stop at the Cheese House in Leithyn, for a break and snack, returning to the office around 5:30 p.m.
The cost of the trip is $20 per person. This includes the bus trip, admission to Reiman Gardens, and lunch. Youth are welcome to attend with an adult. Jefferson County 4-H members can attend for $10. Participants will be responsible for purchasing snacks along the way or any orchids or gift shop items they may wish to purchase at the garden. Registration is required by January 23.
