Candidate lists released for Keokuk and Washington Counties
Candidate lists have been released by the Keokuk and Washington County Auditor’s Offices, giving details on who has filed in each city and who is on the ballot for Pekin.

Cities
Brighton
In Brighton, there are three seats being elected to a four-year term. Incumbents Mary Smith and Cathy Rich are seeking re-election. Also in the race are Dick Green, Andrew Boone, David Pratt, and Chuck Emry.
Richland
Richland will have the mayor and all five council seats on the ballot. John Capps is the only candidate on the ballot for the mayor’s race. Running for council are all five incumbents, Alisa Tolle, David Balster, Kathy Brower, Brei Beam, and Michael Hadley. Joining them in the race will be Steve Pfeifer and Joseph Adrian.
Ollie
Running to fill the vacancy in the mayor’s position in Ollie is Scott Vetter. Keaton Philips will be running for one of the two open council seats, while Justin Haile is running to fill the vacant council seat.
Martinsburg
Martinsburg has all incumbents seeking re-election, with Mike Jasper running for mayor, and Leon Wickenkamp and Todd Moore seeking re-election as council members.
Hedrick
In the race for Hedrick’s mayor, incumbent Robert Crawford is being challenged by Dave Murray and Tommy Smith. For the three open council seats, incumbents Mike Mefford, Jeremy Greiner, and Dustin Griffiths are seeking re-election, while Ethan Cernic and JD Olinger will also have their names on the ballot.
School
Pekin
Pekin has Director District One, Two, Four, and At-Large on the ballots this November. Running for the District One seat is Michael Sieren. Michael Davis is seeking re-election to his seat as Director of District Two. District Four has Josh Arendt and Shawn Echelberry vying for the position. Incumbent Sherry Bemis is being challenged by Kyle Daniel Geren for the At-Large District position.
Also on the ballot for Pekin is Public Measure MJ. Shall the following Revenue Purpose Statement be adopted? Summary: To adopt a Revenue Purpose Statement specifying the use of revenues the Pekin Community School District will receive from the State of Iowa Secure an Advanced Vision for Education Fund.
