Dominique Keith

Dominique Keith is a Pekin graduate in the spotlight. She is the daughter of Quentin and Katie Keith. Her siblings are Adalia Keith, Divya Keith and Teo Keith.

While in school she was involved in FFCLA, FBLA, Spanish Club, and Diversity Club. Dominique has also worked at North Hy-Vee in Ottumwa.

What’s your favorite school memory or what will you remember the most? I will probably remember the last football game as it was senior night and it was very emotional.

If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? I would change how I let people's actions affect me.

Finish this sentence: “I could not live without…” I could not live without my mom because she gets me through hard times and she is the reason that I am alive today.

What’s the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? The best thing is knowing that I can go off and do whatever I want to do in the future like become a teacher.

Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why? Probably Mrs. Boatman aka Ms Kitzman, she kept her faith in me when I lacked it in myself and I would not have gotten through junior year without her believing in me and that I could do anything I wanted to.

Advice to incoming high school freshmen: Don't worry about who your friends are now that will change as high school goes on.

What are your plans after graduation? My plans are to go to the University Of Northern Iowa and study Elementary Education and minor in Special Education.

What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? I want to go sky diving even though I am deathly afraid of heights I think that will be cool.

If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I would move to South Carolina to be with the family that I only get to see every few years.

Who has been your biggest influence in your life and why? My biggest influence would be my parents because they gave me life and they tell me to never give up on my dreams and they have always believed I could make it this far even when I didn't think I could
