We appreciate you! We all know those three little words are not said nearly enough.
Teachers deserve our love and appreciation for all they do for our children. We want to eliminate the stress and burden of stocking their room so the teachers can focus on what’s important — our children.
The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce our Teacher Appreciation Event aimed at supporting local educators by providing them with free classroom supplies. The event, taking place on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Fairfield Arts and Convention Center from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., will equip teachers with essential materials — such as notebooks, pens, markers, and more — all at no cost.
Recognizing that many teachers spend their own money to ensure their classrooms are adequately stocked, the Chamber of Commerce is bringing together local businesses to give back to those who do so much for the community.
“It’s inspiring to see our local businesses pour back into the hands that shape our future — our teachers.” said Jessica Anderson, Event Co-Chair. “Grateful for a community that lifts those who lift up our children every day.”
The event is made possible by our Presenting Sponsor MidWestOne Bank. Over 30 businesses have signed up to donate supplies to help teachers prepare for the school year. Miller Realty is returning this year to decorate the event to make sure it is lovely.
Teachers from Fairfield, Maharishi, Van Buren, Pekin, and Cardinal School Districts are invited. Admission is free, but registration is encouraged to ensure adequate arrangements.
Alongside the free materials, participating teachers will enjoy raffle drawings for larger prizes, free food, and drinks as tokens of appreciation.
“This event is our community’s way of celebrating and uplifting the incredible educators who shape our future every day,” said Chamber Director Mendy McAdams. “We want every teacher to walk away feeling valued, supported, and ready to take on a great new school year.”
Teacher RSVPs are needed. Email Info@FairfieldIowa.com to let us know you are coming. Be sure to indicate if you are in need child care (provided at no cost). All children must go to the babysitting room so all teachers can enjoy the event.
