Farmland leasing meeting July 31 at Fairfield

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Jefferson and Van Buren Counties are hosting the 2025 Farmland Leasing Meeting on Thursday, July 31 at the Jefferson County Extension Office, 2606 W. Burlington Ave., Fairfield. A meal is provided and will be served at 5:30 p.m.; the meeting will follow from 6-8 PM. Cost of the program is $25 per person and registration can be found online at https://go.iastate.edu/O1JKXJ or by calling the Jefferson County Extension Office at 641-472-4166. Registration is due by Tuesday, July 29.

The discussion will focus on various methods to determine a fair 2026 cash rental rate and the importance of good tenant/landlord communications. Emphasis will be placed on recent returns to Iowa Cash Rented Land and the 2025 Iowa Cash Rental Rate Survey. Participants will each receive a 100-page booklet and meeting handouts designed to assist landowners, tenants, and other agribusiness professionals with issues related to farmland ownership, management, and leasing arrangements.
