Fritchen to be inducted into Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame
Aug. 11, 2022 11:43 am
For the past 39 years Sharon Fritchen has been a 4-H leader in Keokuk County. For 10 of those years she was a leader for two clubs. She has served on the Keokuk County Expo Fair board for 22 years. She started the 4-H flower planter auction to raise money for the clubs of Keokuk Co. Expo.
She also takes a million photos throughout the year of the 4-H kids before, during, and after the Expo as the kids' projects come to fruition for the expo. She is THE person to ask, and the go-to, for the rules about anything 4-H in Keokuk County and the Iowa State Fair. Every year she puts everyone else first and foremost to do their best, her passion for everything 4-H is overwhelming. She encourages, she's your biggest cheerleader, and she is the most humble person. She LOVES doing 4-H all year, every year. Sharon's mom was also inducted in 2009.
Sharon will be recognized for all of her hard work by being inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. If you would like to come and celebrate Sharon at the Iowa State Fair, the ceremony will be Sun. August 21, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. in the 4-H building, or if you would like to send a letter/email to congratulate her, send it to the News Review.
