Fruit Tree Pruning & Training Workshop March 12

Fruit producers big and small will have another opportunity to learn how to prune and train fruit trees to maximize fruit production. These techniques will be demonstrated on apple and pear trees growing at a local Master Gardener’s home at 289 North St. Kalona IA 52247 on Tuesday, March 12th 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Patrick O’Malley, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach commercial horticulturist, will discuss why and how the different types of fruit trees are pruned and trained to maximize annual fruit production. The workshop on March 12 will be a demonstration.
The workshop will be held at 5 p.m. at a local Master Gardener’s home at 289 North St. Kalona IA. This is a free workshop. We do ask that you call in and preregister at the Washington Extension Office at 319-653-4811 or go to https://go.iastate.edu/0NNSVC.
