Girls compete at EBF, boys’ team runs at Moravia

The Pekin girls’ cross country team ran in the EBF Cross Country meet last Tuesday, September 19.
The Panther high school girls’ team finished second with 48 points. Albia won with 21, and EBF finished third with 79.
Chloe Glosser was the top runner for Pekin, finishing second with a time of 19:34.74. Lauren Steigleder crossed the line seventh in 22:45.62, and Audrey Fariss was 13th in 23:33.27.
Callie Deutschle finished 23rd in 24:53.18, Abby Guise finished 24th in 25:08.48, and Cambree Earnest was 28th in 25:30.42, Lexi Swearingen finished 30th in 25:35.72, and Teagan Swearingen was 32nd in 25:59.19.
Brinley Phillips finished 38th in 26:47.36, Breanna Drish was 40th in 26:59.63, Alyssa Sylvester finished 46th in 27:40.58, and Kadence Brisby finished 51st in 30:44.69.
In the junior high race, two Pekin runner finished in the top ten with Mya Glick taking seventh in 12:53.32 and Ashlynn Adrian finishing eighth in 12:59.13. Zoe Heisdorffer was 15th in 15:06.00, Reagan Wise finished 23rd in 18:29.68, Zoey Denison was 25thin 19:30.36, and Haven Hensley was 26th in 19:44.52.
Pekin boys competed in Moravia last Thursday in the Mohawk Cross Country Meet.
The Panthers ran their way to a second-place finish with Brady McWhirter leading the way.
The Panthers finished with 41 points.
McWhirter ran to a second overall finish after posting a time of 17:57.96. JaeDon Wolver placed sixth in 19:11.27. Mason Dahlstrom ran 19:38.39 for eighth.
Cole Millikin was 11th, Lane Fariss took 18th, Dylan Sobaski finished 19th, Conor Cloyd was 28th and Clayton Harvey finished 46th.
