Pekin’s eighth grade exploratory agriculture class has been incubating a dozen Cornish Rock eggs this fall. In late September they had nine hatch. Above, the students visited the Pekin daycare last week to share the chicks with them. Some of the chicks will be going home with the ag students at the end of the quarter to continue learning about animal husbandry.

Pekin’s Ag Business class, FFA officers, and yearbook team went out to Bennett Ag Research and harvested over 600 pumpkins last week. The pumpkins were given out to the preschool students; the fifth and sixth-graders; the culinary arts students, to roast the seeds; and to staff members.
