Guise among top performers honored at Indian Hills celebration

Indian Hills Community College Performing Arts honored top performers from the 2024-2025 theatre season at the annual Cake on an Empty Stage Celebration. The theatre season was composed of A Christmas Carol in December 2024 and Footloose in April 2025 at St. John Auditorium on the Ottumwa campus.
Best Actor for his performance as Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol went to Demitirius Mitchell from Harvey, IL. Best Actor for his performance as Ren McCormick in Footloose went to Diego Solorio of Irvine, CA. Best Supporting Actor for his performance of Marley in A Christmas Carol and as Willard Hewitt in Footloose went to Ben Guise of Packwood.
Best Technical Awards for the entire year went to River Hibma of Pleasantville, Callie Wollinger of Waupun, WI, and Trenton Patton of Burlington.
Star Performer medals were awarded to Samantha Zuel of Chariton, Grace Haring of Cambria, Bella Earnest of Hedrick, Lizzie Hootman of Fairfield, Dylan Baldwin of Ottumwa, Khain Thiessen of Marengo, Kass Hicke of Burlington, Syndey Meirotto of Bonaparte, Rashaun Boyer of Albia, Reese Bradford of Ottumwa, Prestin Puckett of Kirksville, MO, Elexis Perry of Bloomfield, Hannah Bridgman of Bloomfield, Kati Williams of Ottumwa, Kolbe Workman of Albia, TJ Lada from Marshalltown, Marc Jan M. Danas from Stockport, Andi Marshall from Muscatine, Erin Wilson from Indianola, and Jaslynne Sturz from Albia.
Awards are presented by IHCC Theatre Faculty Dr. Jennifer Terry Boyenga and Dr. Ray Slavens.
