Hotspots are coming to the Richland Public Library
Dec. 12, 2024 11:14 am
Southeast Iowa Union offers audio versions of articles using Instaread. Some words may be mispronounced.
The Richland Public Library has obtained two hotspots from US Cellular that will be available for patrons 18 and older to check out for up to two weeks at a time starting at the beginning of January 2025.
Hotspots are devices that can connect your phone, laptop, Kindle, tablet or other WiFi-enabled devices to the internet when WiFi isn’t available. They are great to use when traveling or at other times when you don’t have access to the internet.
To check out a hotspot, patrons must have a Richland Public Library account in good standing (no outstanding fees or overdue materials) and must have had the account for at least 180 days. Hotspot borrowers will need to sign a “Hotspot Borrowing Agreement” and leave a refundable $10 deposit.
For more information about borrowing the library’s hotspots, please contact the library at 319-456-6541 or richlib@natel.net. A copy of our Hotspot Policy can be found on our website (richland.lib.ia.us) under the “About” tab.
