Aug. 17, 2023 9:46 am
Ide Gymnastics competed in the USTA National Championships in Springfield, Illinois on June with 10 athletes.
At the competition, the athletes are divided into age groups and skill levels, and the competitors are then placed into “flights” of no more than 10 in each. The scores are then compiled and posted according to their placement against all other competitors in the same age and skill level. Some of these levels total 60 or more girls or boys. The overall top 10 scoring performers receive a trophy and stand on the podium. The athletes compete in Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline and Power Tumbling.
Skylar Smith brought home a silver second in Intermediate Trampoline; and Ashlynn Adrian earned a silver second in Novice Power Tumbling, along with a fifth in Advanced Trampoline and a seventh in Advanced Double Mini Trampoline.
Kaylee Wright brought home a fourth in Sub-Advanced Double Mini Trampoline.
Audrey Robinson brought home a ninth in Sub Novice Power Tumbling and tenth in both Advanced Trampoline and Advanced Double Mini Trampoline. Kamryn Tharp also received a tenth place in Novice Trampoline. Finishing the Top Ten was Jacob Wallace with a tenth in Intermediate Double Mini Trampoline, bringing Ide Gymnastics’ total of 10 in the Top Ten.
Kaitlyn Jensen made 16th place in Intermediate Trampoline against 46 girls while Madilynn Wallace made 23rd place in Beginner Trampoline against 42 girls, and Kayona Krochak came back with 29th place in Beginner Double Mini Trampoline against 58 girls.
Coach Jeff Ide looks forward to starting the new season and next year’s champions.
