Ainsworth and Columbus Junction — This winter, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is bringing valuable learning opportunities to women in agriculture through its well-known Annie’s Project 101 program. Southeast Iowa will host one of these signature courses, designed to support and empower women in agriculture through education, networking, and practical resources. This course is open to all.
Annie’s Project is a nationally recognized program that has already impacted over 3,700 participants in Iowa since 2004. The program provides a welcoming, small-group environment where women can share experiences and learn from local agricultural professionals. Sessions focus on building confidence in decision-making and managing risk across five key areas: financial, marketing, human resources, legal, and production.
“After going through Annie’s Project, I’ve learned there is so much more we can be doing to help our farm business and get it ready for the next generation,” said a 2024 participant.
In response to feedback from past attendees, ISU Extension and Outreach also offers Annie’s Inspired — advanced courses that build on the foundation of Annie’s Project, providing deeper insights into agricultural business strategies.
“I took Annie’s Project for the third time,” shared a 2022 graduate. “With the constant changes in agriculture and tight margins, I need all the helpful resources I can get.”
