Jefferson County 4-H to hold Farm Tour for members

On Friday, March 17, Jefferson County 4-H is having a farm tour for 4-H members to learn more about animal science and animal husbandry, as well as learn about areas associated with livestock, such as meat science, leatherworking, and business operations. This is a no school day for both the Fairfield and Pekin School Districts. Tours include the Freeman Farms, Keosauqua Sales Company, Packwood Locker, R Cattle Company, and Western Horse Company, Ltd.

All 5th-12th grade 4-H members are invited, with those from Jefferson County being given first chance to register. There are limited spots available. The cost is $10 per member, but financial assistance is available if needed. Members will receive transportation in a school bus for the day, as well as a light breakfast, a catered lunch, and a chance to win prizes. Adult chaperones are provided.
