Registration is open for the Region 19 favorite, regional 4-H Junior Camp. This year participants will Explore the Jungle of Opportunities in 4-H. It is set to be a two-day and one-night camp held at Crooked Creek Camp outside Washington June 10-11. Washington, Johnson, Keokuk, and Iowa Counties current 4-H members in 4th-6th grade are invited to register for this outdoor experience to learn new skills and make 4-H friends and memories for a lifetime. This camp is hosted by Region 19 counties, including Washington, Johnson, Keokuk, and Iowa counties.
This day camp will run June 10, 8:30 a.m. — June 11, 4:45 p.m. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from camp. Participants will experience fishing, canoeing, outdoor nature water slides, art, science, dancing, smores, and more. New program plans include henna art, blender bike smoothies, cover crop monsters, scavenger hunt and more! It is expected that participants stay for the entirety of camp and are not able to come and go to other activities. If youth have other commitments during that time, they should wait to register for a year when they can participate fully.
The final registration cost is $135. The fees for service will be used to offset direct expenses and to support the 4-H Youth Development County Extension Programs.
To accommodate such interest in jr camp, there will be a lottery drawing from those registered to fill the limited spots. All 4-H juniors will have an equal opportunity to register online between March 3 — May 1 with no money down until after the lottery drawing for our allotted spots. Register by May 1 to https://tinyurl.com/4HJrCampJungle25. All those registered will be notified May 5 of the outcome of the drawing so summer plans can be confirmed.
