Keokuk Co. Extension and Outreach hosting Master Gardener program

Keokuk County Extension and Outreach will be hosting a Master Gardener Program Fall Hybrid Training beginning September 5. The classes will continue through November 18.

Master Gardeners come from many different backgrounds but have a few key things in common: they love gardening, they love learning, and they love contributing to their local communities. If you want to deepen your horticultural knowledge and serve your community, join us this year! To be awarded the coveted Master Gardener title, there are a few things you’ll be asked to do:

•Complete a 10-week online training through Canvas

•Take a pre- and post-test at the beginning and end

•Participate in 4 in-person sessions with your county/region

•Volunteer 40-hours in your county by December 31, 2024

Applications for the course are due by August 18. Online materials will be available September 15. There will be in-person sessions every Thursday for 10 weeks (locations to vary) starting September 7.

November 18 Post test due
