In the spotlight is Pekin graduate Koy Pollock. He is the son of Stephen Pollock and Paula Richards. He has two siblings, Kaden Pollock and Kynzleigh Richards.
While in school he was involved in Football, Basketball, Baseball, FFA, and Ruritan Rising Seniors.
What’s your favorite school memory or what will you remember the most? Getting food in my mom’s room.
If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? Be myself and not let people around me tell me who I am.
Finish this sentence: “I could not live without …” Money.
What’s the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? Leaving.
Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why? Betty Sines. My freshman year Betty and I butted heads like none other. She sat me down had a talk with me. A talk that changed our relationship forever. From that moment on Betty has been like a grandmother to me at Pekin. Keeping me in line, listening to all my bull crap. Getting on me for things she knows I need to get done.
Advice to incoming high school freshmen: Understand why a bus can sit 40 people, and a Lamborghini can only fit 2.
What are your plans after graduation? I will go and work at AMC mechanical in Pella. This fall I will enter into their Plumbing/Pipping apprenticeship.
What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? Cliff Jumping.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? South Africa.
Who has been your biggest influence in your life and why? My brother, he has shown me the ropes to my future. He gives me advice and cheers me on with everything I do. He makes me want to get up every day and be a better me.
