A Pekin senior in the spotlight is Libby Brock. She is the daughter of Amanda Reinier, Brian Reinier (stepdad), Ardie Brock, and Alicia Seiren-Brock. Her siblings are Bradley Brock, Blake Brock, Evie Reinier and Chase Reinier.
While in school, she has been a Basketball Manager four years and was in Choir two-and-a-half years. She has also worked at Hy-Vee and Brothers Market.
What’s your favorite school memory or what will you remember the most? My favorite high school memory would be watching the boys’ basketball team my freshman year score a buzzer beater against Lone Tree and win the game.
If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? I wouldn't have been so quiet leading up to my senior year.
Finish this sentence: “I could not live without…” My personality.
What’s the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? The best thing is definitely the freedom you earn, and the worst is having people tell you how being an adult is when you should be able to figure it out by yourself.
Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why? Mrs. Wittrock has had the biggest impact on me because she cares about everyone equally and is very interesting to talk too.
What advice do you have for incoming high school freshmen? Every day is new.
What are your plans after graduation? I'm going to Kirkwood Community College for Hospitality Management for two years. I'll either manage a hotel or become a property operations manager with my degree.
What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? I would like to visit the west coast, just to see what's over there.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I would move to the Thailand Islands because it's constantly warm there and it looks gorgeous.
Who has been your biggest influence in your life and why? I wouldn't say there's only one because everybody has impacted my life in different ways and taught me things they've learned as they've grown.
Any additional comments? I hope all the seniors from my class find what they're looking for.
