Local 4-H volunteers complete training
Oct. 5, 2023 8:47 am
Iowa State University Extension’s 4-H volunteers from Keokuk County participated in a training titled “Creating a Vibrant 4-H” where they engaged in learning strategies to create a quality and vibrant 4-H experience that can strengthen youth engagement. Volunteers had the opportunity to apply positive youth development strategies and tools to support education, and youth voice in their 4-H program. In addition, leaders gained resources that can be used with 4-H youth throughout the year.
This training is part of ISU Extension and Outreach’s 4-H Youth Development annual training for volunteers.
4-H volunteers, as caring adults, are an important element of ISU Extension and Outreach’s youth-serving organization. Effective volunteers provide the experiences and positive relationships that enable 4-H youth to become productive citizens, outstanding communicators, effective leaders, and successful learners now and in the future.
