A Pekin graduate in the spotlight this week is Luke Long. He is the son of Chris and Sandy Long, and has two brothers, Matthew and Levi.
While in school Luke was involved in Football, Basketball, Track, FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, Spanish Club, Ruritans, and NHS. He has also worked as a farm hand and as an outside yard stocker at Menards.
What’s your favorite school memory or what will you remember the most? Sub-State Basketball freshman year.
If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? Take more dual credit classes.
Finish this sentence: “I could not live without…” Breathing.
What’s the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? Best- Getting out of here. Worst- Getting out of here.
Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why? Mrs.Bates because she's easy to talk to and willing to help with anything.
Advice to incoming high school freshmen: Take Mrs. Jacob's business classes.
What are your plans after graduation? Attend DMACC for business and transfer to ISU after 2 years.
What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? Sky diving.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Colorado, because I love the mountains and skiing.
Who has been your biggest influence in your life and why? My family, because they push me and give me guidance.
