Mulliken reunion held

The annual Mulliken reunion was held Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Rubio Community Center. Those in attendance were Melvin Mulliken; Laura Mullikin; Rose and Steve Jaynes; James, Lisa, and Michael Mullikin family; Mary Shirkey-Bishop; Marjorie (Willis) Mullikin; Carole Mullikin; Joe Royer; Jeff and Debbie Holden; Henry and Marilyn Donette; Raymond Mullikin and friend Eileen; Donald Mullikin and friend Verna; Jeff and Pat Swartzendruber; Margaret Phillips; John Mullikin; Matt and Aurora Mullikin; Anna Mullikin Rieneir and Travis Mullikin; John and Linda Mullikin; Tyler Mullikin; Glen Mullikin Junior; Allen and Sheryl Mullikin, family members Denise and Krystal; and Diane Keller.

The reunion meal was a potluck. The Mullikin family is gifted with members who love to sing gospel music. The reunion is held the third Saturday of every August. Stories of the past were shared by cousins and old antique photos were given to cousins of the previous generations. For Mary Shirkey-Bishop, it was a blessed surprise to receive photos of her grandpa Ralph Shirkey, grandma Opal Shirkey, aunt Virginia Zwetzig, and dad Dale Shirkey as young child. Photos are priceless and reveal so much history and heritage.
