Naturalist Bond visits the Richland Public Library
Jun. 29, 2023 1:05 pm
Everyone had a great time trying to identify furs brought in by naturalist Stratton Bond from the Keokuk County Conservation Board. The furs were mostly from mammals found in Iowa. As each animal fur was identified, Stratton shared additional information about the animal such as where it lives and what it eats. The program ended with a game requiring kids to identify animal sounds that were played from a recorder. Animal sounds included elephants, hawks and cats as well as a sound that a dinosaur may have made!
This summer’s programs will continue through July 25 for children of all ages. For more information about the library’s programs or to sign-up, please contact the library at 319-456-6541 or richlib@natel.net.
