A good attendance of children came to the park in Richland on Saturday afternoon to take part in the annual Easter Egg Hunt, which had been postponed from the Saturday before. Delissa Blakely, Kirk Elmore, Rosie Spanier, and Dennis Cavner were the winners of the golden eggs for which each received a silver dollar.
The Girl Scout Troop 206 met at the Lions building for a co-op supper Monday night. Present were Michelle Sasseen and parents and family, Tammy Dugger and her parents, Kathy Downey and her parents, Calista Fritchen with her mother and family, Denise Mullikin with her mother and family, Jane Wolcott and her parents and family, Laurie Nordyke and her parents and family, Kelly Morgan with her mother and family, Linda Smith with her mother and family, Mary Joan Wilhite with her parents and family. After a delicious meal, a short program was presented. Three girls, Jane Wolcott, Mary Joan Wilhite, and Laurie Nordyke became Cadettes. “Sign the Arrow” badges were presented. Gifts, which were made by the girls, were given to each mother and father present. Leaders present were Mrs. Dean Kurtz and Todd, Karen Bovard, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sasseen.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sasseen were hosts at a dinner party Wednesday evening last week as a courtesy for Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Greiner, who were observing their 37th wedding anniversary. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Don Allen, Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Hadley, Mrs. Alphonse Pfeiffer and Mary Catherine Greiner both of Keota, and Mr. and Mrs. Chalmers Hoskins.
Mrs. Aaron Nordyke and Mrs. Herbert Blakely were hostesses at a coffee Wednesday of last week at the Dickey Prairie Home as a birthday courtesy for Mrs. Viola Weber and Mrs. Carl Coffman. Mrs. W.E. Luithly was also a guest.
Clay Club met last Friday with Mrs. Danny rogers. Mrs. Ray Mourer had the program. Refreshments were served during the social hour.
Mrs. Clarence Greiner will move soon to her new home in the southwest part of Richland from her farm northwest of town. A new street will be put in and until it is completed Mrs. Greiner will be unable to move.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gould and Sean of Montezuma were weekend visitors in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Gould. Dan and Michelle Sasseen were also visitors with their grandparents. The birthday of Mrs. Maurice Gould was celebrated.
Mrs. Clifford Elmore, Doug, Dan and Tim and Mrs. Jim Archer spent from Saturday afternoon until Monday in the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Harrison at Topeka, Kansas. They also attended the dedication service for their three-month-old daughter, Jamie Michelle at the First Friends Church in Topeka on Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison then hosted a buffet dinner at Tommy’s Buffet in Topeka for the following guests: Mrs. Clifford Elmore, Doug, Dan and Tim, Mrs. Jim Archer, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Harrison, Shirley and Lynn and Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Harrison of Glen Elder, Kansas.
Mr. and Mrs. David Adam, rural Hedrick, are the parents of a son, Christopher Michael, six pounds, born April 23 at the St. Joseph Hospital, Ottumwa. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Adam, Hedrick. Mr. and Mrs. William Adam of Fairfield are the great-grandparents. The Richard Adam family formerly lived east of Richland.
Mr. and Mrs. Scott Connelly and small daughter of Fairfield spent Sunday afternoon in the parental R.C. Connelly home.
Hospitalized at Washington County Hospital from this area are Mrs. Clem Chalupa and Bill Crawford. Hospitalized in Jefferson County Hospital from this area are Mrs. Mabel Cox, and Clarence Wolcott. Dismissed from the Jefferson County Hospital Saturday were Mrs. Don Downey, rural Ollie, Harold Sutton and Raymond Steinbeck.
