A miscellaneous bridal shower was held Saturday evening at the Baptist Church for Steve Winn and Tammy Dugger. The program consisted of a piano solo by Kelly Blake and a reading by Mrs. Normagene Wonderlich. Hostesses were Mrs. Phyllis Fritchen, chairman; Mrs. Deloris Ingle, Mrs. Phyllis Gott, Mrs. Nancy Winn, Mrs. Joyce Weber, Mrs. Marie Buttery, Mrs. Carolyn Fye, Mrs. Normagene Wonderlich, Mrs. Lola Nelson, Mrs. Kate Schrader, Mrs. Elizabeth McCreery, Mrs. Beverly Underwood, Mrs. Pat Reinier, Mrs. Billie Winn, and Mrs. Marianne Schrepfer.
Mr. and Mrs. George Mathis of Vancouver, Washington, have returned to their home after spending a month with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul conger and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Winn and sons of Minneapolis, Minnesota spent the Fourth of July with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Winn, Dana, Davon, and Amber. His mother Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hay of Fairfield were also guests. In the evening they enjoyed the fireworks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Winn and family.
Mrs. Shirley Wolf and sons of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Ward and family were Sunday evening supper guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Ward.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Muntz, Richie, Rusty and Kristie have had their son and brother and family, Danny, Jean and Adam Routhart of Edgewood, Maryland, with them for the past 12 days. Several family events were held with the following present: Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Balmer, Stockport; Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Muntz, Bonaparte; Mr. and Mrs. Randy Muntz and Wesley, of Sigourney; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Connor and Amy, Libertyville; and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Heald, Rick and Emily of Packwood. On the Fourth of July they went to the Bonaparte celebration at the home of Frankie Muntz. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they were all camping at Lake Rathbun, Virginia’s two brothers and their families, the Dale Balmers of Ames, the Robert Grannaman of Hedrick, Jill and Todd Moore of Salina, Kansas, and Aaron Jacqua of Michigan. The Doutharts made the trip by plane and left on Monday morning for their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Long attended a reception at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon for Don’s niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Dyer. The event was hosted by her parents, Mr. and Mr. Raymond Hadley.
Thirty-two people who attended the Sunday evening service in the Rubio Church had refreshments in the basement afterward in celebration of the anniversary of Don and JoAnn Long and the birthday of Victor Parcell.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Curtis visited his mother, Elizabeth Curtis, over the weekend. While here, they attended his 25th year class reunion at the Stever House in Fairfield Saturday evening.
A dinner hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Oswalt was held Monday evening in honor of Dan and Hazel Allen of Mesa, Arizona. The Allen’s have returned to Iowa for a short visit. Other dinner guests included Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Swartzwelter, Mrs. Kathleen Morgan, and Mr. and Mrs. Andy George.
Monday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Hinshaw, Korwin and Sallie, Mrs. Gertrude Hinshaw, Mr. and Mrs. John Emonin and Lorraine were guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Hinshaw and Amy of Fairfield for supper and to celebrate John Hinshaw’s birthday.
