The Richland Family Clinic will hold their Grand Opening Feb. 8, 2000. Mayor Byron Kimble will welcome the public, followed by speakers Clarence Cory, President of Ottumwa Regional Health Center and Korwin Hinshaw, President of the Richland Community Club. Colee Hospers, Vice-President of Patient Care Service, will introduce the staff of the new family clinic. Final comments will be made by Robert Stump, President of Libertyville Savings Bank.
Named to the President’s List at William Penn University were Matthew Wolf of Packwood and Natalie Neel of Richland.
Super Bowl Sunday supper guests of George and Kitty Snakenberg, Whitney and Schuyler were Jon Schuttlefield, Joel, Deb, Eric and Aaron Kephart.
Pauline Ward took Dan and Helen Ward, Mike, Shelly and Hazel Ward, Andy Drish, Julie Kingrey, Adam Lutz, Jeremy Greiner, and Brian Weber out for dinner at the Catfish Place in Fairfield January 30. They were the ones who helped her move. Later, Pauline and Julie went to Iowa City to do some shopping.
Dick and Karen Williams returned home from the Ruritan Convention held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina January 27.
Linda and Randy Liles attended a birthday party for their granddaughter, Allison Nicholson, Jan. 29, 2000 at the home of her parents, Lisea and Mike Nicholson in Richland.
Kimberly Eastman’s 18th birthday was celebrated Sunday at her grandma and grandpa Parsons. Others present were Nikki and Alexis Westercamp, Dennis and Rita Eastman, and Tim and Nancy Parsons.
Packwood mayor Dave Dickey was a member of the audience at Jay Leno’s ‘Tonight Show’ and was invited to answer a question from the talk show host. Leno asked three audience members, one of which was Dickey, to make a confession of something they had done that no one had knowledge of. Dickey’s response was that when he was a young man, growing up in Packwood, he and a few of his buddies painted all the doorknobs red in the Packwood business district.
Sam and Irene Ritchie, and Dennis Lock and Naomi Lock, attended the Truman University basketball game to watch Wendy Sobaski play a spectacular game.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sasseen, Naomi Lock and Elsie Neece attended the funeral of Perl Messer at the Cottonwood Church near Wayland.
Jessica McBeth, daughter of Forrest and Deanna McBeth of Richland, has been selected as a finalist for Iowa’s Twentieth Annual Homecoming Queen selection to be held May 13 and 14, 2000 in Des Moines. Jessica is Pekin High School’s Homecoming Queen.
Amanda and Nick Brown of Ankeny are the parents of a daughter, Lillian Ann, born Jan. 27, 2000 weighing eight pounds, six-and-one-half ounces. She has a brother, Riley, 23-months, to welcome her home. Local grandparents are Judi and Korwin Hinshaw of Fairfield.
Joel, Deb, Eric, and Aaron Kephart; George, Kitty and Schuyler Snakenberg; and Robert and Gail Molkenthin were among those attending the IHCC basketball game in Ottumwa. Eric and Schuyler got autographs from Iowa Basketball Coach Steve Alford.
Keaton Winn, son of Chris and Lynn Winn, was honored Feb. 20 at his home for his second birthday. Grandpa Bob Winn was also honored for his Feb. 21 birthday. Present to enjoy the day with them were Chris and Lynn Winn, Alex and Paige, Grandma Nancy Winn, Nick and Marge Weber, Lynzee, Megan and AJ, Seth Burns, Chris and Sandy Long and Levi.
