2015

Kerry Davis, son of Carl and Nancy Davis of Winfield, was awarded a $1000 scholarship from the Agriland FS Foundation and a $500 scholarship from Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative.

2005

The winners of the poster contest sponsored by Sunrise Terrace for third grade were third place Jena Nicholson, second place Paige Breon, and first place Shelby Therme.

Competing in the state track meet from WMU are Amanda Richardson, Sheila Finnell Katie Reynolds, Nichole Wyss, Erin Redlinger, Missy McElhinney, Melanie McCreight, Alicia Unkrich, and Lindsay Evans.

Phillip and Jean (Supalla) Messer will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2005.

Amanda Richardson, Joel Martenson, and Erin Redinger received the senior student Athletes of the Year Awards.

Plans were being finalized for ‘The Good Olds Days,’ a two-day celebration commemorating the incorporation of the City of Olds 100 years ago.

1995

Bryan Wanner of Winfield won the USA Late Model Summer Series 1995 opener April 15 at the Eldon Raceway.

Hannah Lee Dettwiler was born to Harold and Jodi Dettwiler on May 4, 1995.

1990

Top athlete honors presented at the WMU Awards Assembly last week went to Jason Hagge, Lisa Larson, Brandi Byrum, and Darin Lintz.

Jennifer Roederer, 1990 graduate of WMU, qualified for the state golf meet by shooting a 94 at the regional meet held at West Liberty.

1985

Inducted into the WMU National Honor Society were Tracy Smith, Kim Walter, Robin, Lauderdale, Maureen Moeller, Michelle Garris, Krista Jennings, Randy Heitmeier, Karl Loibl, and Garry Idle.

Bill and Faye (Linder) Ibbotson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

1980

WMU school board approved hiring Russell Dunsmore as a custodian/bus driver and Everett Isom as a full-time custodian.
