The Winfield Fire and Rescue Department has purchased a new vehicle, a 1996 Freightliner from the University of Iowa, that has been used as an ambulance.
Sgt. David Hinkle, age 27, along with two soldiers from Henry County, were injured in two bomb blasts last week, as reported by the National Guard.
Elizabeth Hnizdo of Winfield and TJ Brown of Mt. Union have announced their engagement and upcoming July 30 wedding.
Kerri and Matt Anderson are the parents of a daughter, Anna Marie Anderson, born May 27, 2005.

Eva Weber, WMU Board Secretary, resigned her position effective June 30, 1995. She began at the school on July 1, 1974 as the superintendent’s secretary and in 1984 added duties as secretary to the Board of Directors.
Billy Nordyke won the state track title in the discus.
Named to the National Honor Society at WMU were Jamie Dunn, Vonya Gibbs, Seth Haight, Tony Hardy, Anisha Hesseltine, Traci Johnson, Mitch Jones, Burt Lappe, Heather Lauderdale, Wyatt Peterson, Eric Rawson, Allison Settles, Sarah Sommer, Heidi Venghaus, and Mark Wilkerson.
