2015
The Winfield-Mt. Union and Morning Sun school boards came together on June 3 to discuss the possibility of sharing WMU’s new superintendent Jeff Maeder. The Morning Sun board is also in talks with Wapello about sharing.
2010
Frances Asher, Winfield Class of 1922, at the age of 107, was an honored guest at the WMU Alumni Banquet on May 29, 2010. She was accompanied by her niece, Carla Kephart Huston.
Marian Alliman was honored with an open house on June 4, 2010. Many family, friends, former students and parents stopped at the WMU Media Center to tell her good-bye and thank her for the time and love she gave to the students.
2005
Deb Blevins opened her new business in Winfield, Personal Form II, on June 1, 2005.
Laris and Kay Shelman celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on June 6.
Erin Welsch and Matthew Chambers were married on April 23, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City.

Winfield Implement Company announced the hiring of two new employees — Brian Gerling and Vince Dohman.
1995
The Winfield Fire and Rescue Squad was called to Racine Avenue, southeast of Winfield, where a Big “A” sprayer, owned by Terra International was discovered in a ditch. Driver Kevin Meyer was transported to Henry County Health Center.
Cory Steele was named a United States National Award winner in mathematics by the United States Achievement Academy.
1990
Members of a Michigan family were injured when their plane hit a power line while trying to land at the Sheldon Kongable farm to attend a meeting of the International Flying Farmers.
Susan Edgar and Jeffrey Adix were united in marriage on May 27 at the united Church of Crawfordsville.
1985
A new press box at the WMU athletic field was completed by Kim Fletcher of Crawfordsville, assisted by Alan Trees. Insurance proceeds from the old press box, destroyed in a windstorm last fall, were used to pay for the costs.
City Police Officer, Randy Nelson, who works part time on the weekends to relieve Police Chief Jerry Andries, told the Winfield City Council that he is placing himself on a standby status.
1975
The town of Winfield sold $130,000 worth of water revenue bonds at its meeting to the Carleton D. Beh Co. of Des Moines at an interest rate of 6.2913%.
