1993
•Mary Youngman received her Eastern Star fifty year certificate and pin for faithful service. She was also presented with a corsage by the Past Matrons.
•School board elections will be Sept. 14. Harold Humphreys is running unopposed for Director in District I.
•Jerry Steele, Winfield Implement, Ltd., and Don Steele, Linder-Smith Insurance Agency, received a Junior Achievement Award for the time they spent working with the JA program at the Winfield-Mt. Union Community School.
•Scott and Jeanette Dillon received the August Beautiful Yard award.
1998
•Sean Honts placed fourth in his division while taking part in the IGA Junior Finals at Jester Park Golf Course in Granger.
•The Winfield Fire Department received a shot in the arm from two donors, receiving $1500 to boost donations to $3200 of the $8000 needed to purchase and refurbish their air packs.
•Mindy Renee Craig and Bradley Scott Kruse will be united in marriage Sept 19, 1998 at the United Methodist Church in Winfield.
2003
•Ashley Mabeus, daughter of Rick and Maxine Mabeus, Winfield, was first runner-up in the Louisa County Fair queen contest.
•Donald W Clark will celebrate his 80th birthday on Aug. 21 with an open house at the home of Donald and Arlene Clark in Winfield.
•Kay Timmerman, Frances Schwartz, Jackie Rickey, and Wanda Linder were in Coon Rapids and attended the funeral for June Ross.
2008
•Ryan and Marcy Kinneberg welcomed their baby boy, Konner James, on May 16, 2008. He was born at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, weighing eight pounds and was 20 inches long.
•Bonnie Franklin will celebrate her 80th birthday with a card shower.
•A total of $100,000 is needed before the end of 2008 for the Winfield Medical Clinic. So far $69,455.32 has been raised.
2013
•Randy Welcher was the latest recipient of a hole-in-one at Wtin Lakes Country Club. Using a #5 Hybrid, he scored it on No. 1 at the golf course on Aug. 10, 2013.
•There are three seats open for the Winfield City Council this year. Those terms expiring are Jan Walter, Ryan Kinneberg, and Ryan Rees.
