1993
•Roger Hill, Winfield fireman, was presented a plaque by Fire Chief Terry Wasson on Sept. 20 for 20 years of service. Roger has resigned from the department as he is moving from the area.
•The WMU third grade classes will be having pen pals at Sunrise Terrace. The classes visit the residents once a month and write letters to their pen pals.
•Marjorie Klotz, 75, of Winfield passed away Sept. 27, 1993 at the Burlington Medical Center.
1998
•Dorothy Foster visited her daughter, Helen and Matt Leach at Milo. While there, she spent a week in the hospital, but is back home now.
•Shelby Therme celebrated her third birthday Sept. 26 at the home of her parents, Robin and Dave Therme, Ainsworth. Guests included Winnie and Hollis Lauderdale and Rich and Cathy Lauderdale of Winfield.
•Mary Patterson, Gordon, Nita, Ashley and Taylor Burks and Jeff Sadler, all of Richmond Virginia, have spent time over the past two weeks with Bill and Wahneetah Hamilton and Ed and Charlene Seggerman.
2003
•Larry Jennings is running unopposed for mayor, while James Bryand, William David Good, Todd Spence, and Andy Zuspann will vie for two city council seats.
•Marie Green of Columbus Junction and Arlene Swan of Winfield attended the four County Area Agency on Aging at Keokuk on Sept. 26.
•Virginia Mason was honored by the Office of the Governor with a Governor’s Volunteer Award during a special ceremony Sept. 25, 2003.
2008
•Kendolyn Davolt and Cory Reynolds were named Winfield’s 2008 homecoming queen and king.
•Kaylynn Emilee Kellogg was born Sept. 12, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. She is the daughter of Misty McCreight and Cole Kellogg of Winfield. She has one sister, Madisen Kellogg.
•Marjorie Carden, age 93, of Winfield passed away Sept. 23, 2008 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center.
2013
•The 2013 WMU homecoming court members are Bailee Spencer, Kohlby Newsom, Darby Harris, Klayton Booth, Shelby Therme, Max Fricke, Emily Mathews, Jake Edwards, Layne Davis, Erica Robison, Tristan Klopfenstein, and Trevon Edwards.
