1993
•Anna Elizabeth Nelson, 90, of Winfield, died October 24, 1993 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center.
•Lara Lynne Ruthmell and Matthew Richard Lindaman announced their engagement and approaching marriage.
•The Winfield Housing Committee met and are working on a comprehensive housing vision for the City of Winfield.
1998
•Mandy Grothe, Crawfordsville, and Tony Renken, Winfield, announced their engagement and upcoming June 19, 1999 wedding date.
•Scott and Kari Haight, Portland, Oregon, are the parents of a son, Nathan Smith Haight, born October 25, 1998.
•Sophie Jean Kongable was born October 8, 1998, to Kenny and Shelly Kongable of Winfield.
2003
•Larry W. Richard, 52, of Wayland died as the result of injuries suffered in an auto accident on October 8, 2003.
•Alan Buffington was named “Winfield’s Firefighter of the Year” for 2003.
•Richard “Rich” Thomas Aplara, 34, of Lockridge, died October 12 at his home following an accident.

•Peoples Insurance Agency of Winfield recently added Eric Rawson to their work force.
•Ethel Hatton, age 100, of Winfield died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center.
•Naomi Chesky, 96, of Cheyenne died September 29 in Cheyenne. Mrs. Chesky was born January 10, 1912 in Winfield and had lived here since 1981.
2013
•Arthur and JoAnna Fleagle Chrissinger, of Oklahoma, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married in Winfield in 1953.
•Emily Mathews, Brooke Jennings, Erica Robison, and Shelby Therme, all WMU volleyball players, have been selected to play in the Southeast Iowa Volleyball Senior All-Star Game November 7 in Fairfield.
•The second annual Winfield Halloween Fest will be held October 26 at “The Commons” Ball Diamonds.
