•Klay Edwards officially signed a letter of Intent to play for the Iowa State Cyclones on November 10.
•Bill J. Deaton passed away Nov. 11, 1993 at the Washington Care Center.
•The WMU football team brought a second place trophy from the state football playoffs in the Dome at Cedar Falls.
1998
•Kerri Lynn Johnson, Winfield, and Matthew Paul Anderson, Mt. Pleasant, were married Sept. 12, 1998 at the Winfield Methodist Church.
•Etta Mae Ross, 72, of Winfield, died Nov. 23, 1998 at the Burlington Medical Center.
•Jim William Evans, 90, Washington, died Nov. 15, 1998 at the Washington Care Center.
2003
•Larry Jennings was elected to serve another term in the mayor’s chair for Winfield, receiving 178 votes. Two new council members, James Bryant and Todd Spence.
•Brandy Kay Miller and Jason Duane McArtor were united in marriage Sept. 6, 2003.
•John and LaVonne Hinkle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 7.
2008
•The second annual Winfield Plowing Day will be held Nov. 22 starting at 9 a.m.
•Laura Bui was the winner of the first turkey in the annual turkey give away sponsored by the Winfield Chamber of Commerce.
•Winfield Lions Club will be serving a dinner at the Presbyterian Church on Thanksgiving Day.

•Members of the Women’s vocal sextet, SELAH, are Mandi Mullin, Debbie Lowe, Barb Phelps, Linda Haight, Deb Remick, Kim Davis, and accompanist, Mary Kilpatrick. They will be performing a selection of Christmas music on December 1.
•Orrie K. Rew, 98, died at his Iowa City home surrounded by his family Nov. 11, 2013.
•Vivian M. Haines, 90, of Mason City died Nov. 13, 2013 at good Shepherd Care Center in Mason City.
