•Kenneth Grim, age 86, of Durango, Colorado, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1993.
•Wanda L. Pruett, 56, of Fort Madison, died Nov. 27, 1993 at University Hospital in Iowa City.

•Receiving their 50-year membership pins from Winfield VFW were Louisa Bush, Betty Underwood, Pauline Payne, and Mary Stevens.
•Velma Thomas, 85, of New Bloomfield, died Dec. 4, 1998 at Capital Region Medical Center.
•Christi Erlenbush and Josh Sands, both of Ainsworth, were married Oct. 17, 1998 at the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church.

•Emma Chandler, formerly of Winfield, celebrated her 92nd birthday.
•Luke Aaron was born to Jamie and John Wallace of Roland Park, Kansas on Nov. 6, 2003.

•November 26, 2008, while westbound in the 1600 grid of the Hwy. 34 bypass, a 2007 Ford F150 pickup owned and operated by David Hinkle, 30, of Winfield struck a deer that entered the roadway from the median ditch.
•The Winfield Presbyterian Church will hold a cookie and candy walk on Saturday, Dec. 6.
•Daisy May Floral and Gifts in Winfield will hold a Holiday Open House on Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

•Sylvia LaVonne Hinkle, age 80, of Winfield passed away Nov. 25, 2013 at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
•Emily Mathews netted a game-high 19 points and Shelby Therme dropped in three 3-pointers to defeat West Liberty, 61-28, in the nonconference game Nov. 30.
