•Andy Zuspann presented a check for $1000 from IBP for their donation to “Jaws for Life” fundraiser.

•Harold T. and Ruth Hall observed their 50th wedding anniversary.

•Kerry Conrad (1964) and Jess Settles (1993) were given their WMU Wall of Fame plaques.

1998

•Mike Prior was honored by the Winfield Fire Department on Dec. 21, 1998 for 17 years of service.

•Jerry H. Wallentine, age 61, passed away Dec. 23, 1998 in Phoenix, Arizona.

•Robert A. Royer, 69, of Winfield, died Dec. 28, 1998 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

2003

•People State Bank in Winfield has moved to a new facility after nearly 70 years.

•An open house was held to honor Dr. and Mrs. Billy Nordyke for the many years of service to the community.

•Edward and Shirley Hudson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 20.

2008

•The City of Winfield received a grant from the Iowa Safe Routes to School Program for $12,500 for sidewalks.

2013

•The Winfield United Methodist Church Sunday School classes were able to pack 43 Operation Christmas Child boxes this year.

•The City of Winfield received $9000 from Enhance Henry County Community Foundation for the Sand Volleyball Park.

•Bruce Wittrig and the Wittrig grandchildren invite the community to the Winfield Methodist Church on Dec. 27 to join them for an evening of Christmas music.
