•Dora Abrisz celebrated her 90th birthday on January 1.

•Bob and Cindy Morse renewed their wedding vows for their 25th anniversary on Dec. 18, 1993.

•James Warren Milks, age 69, passed away at his Winfield home on Dec. 25, 1993.

1999

•After 20 years at the Wyman Wearhouse, Keith and Pat Jones have decided to hang up their hats and retire.

•Angela Unkrich, daughter of Stan and Valerie Unkrich, was selected as this year’s Santa Lucia.

•Allen and Betty Canby celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

2004

•Winfield mayor, Larry Jennings, was sworn in for his third term.

•Andy Zuspann and David Good began their new duties as Winfield City Council members.

•Gertrude Margaret Anderson, age 90, died Dec. 16, 2003.

2009

•The City of Winfield received $1500 for Winfield Fitness Center and the Winfield-Mt. Union School District received $10,000 for Theresa’s Playground from the Enhance Henry County Community Foundation.

2014

•Russell Cline, Korean War Veteran and Purple Heart recipient, was presented with a Quilt of Valor.

•The City of Winfield presented a check for $1000 to Dale Williams to be used for the Backpack Program at Winfield-Mt Union Schools.

•Wilson Van Amerongen completed his Eagle Scout project. He striped and stained the four baseball bleachers at the Winfield-Mt. Union School and installed three benches at the school’s track and field area.
