•Lorene Beaman and Rex Faust were united in marriage on November 19, 1993.

•Brennan Lee Haymond was born March 4, 1994 to Carla Trees Haymond and Brian Haymond.

1999

•Clark and Betty Crawford celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 20.

•Samantha Marie Freeman was born Feb. 29, 1999 to Walter and Danelle Freeman of Winfield.

•Lindsey Loyd, of Winfield, has been chosen to attend the 54th annual session of the Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State.

2004

•Cindy Gott of Winfield has been chosen to attend Girls State by the Winfield American Legion Auxiliary.

•Jordan C. Blint, age 19, was involved in a one-car accident on X-23, four miles south of Mt. Union on Feb. 24, 2004.

•WMU’s Melanie McCreight and Melanie Carlson were named to the Girls’ Basketball All-Conference Team for the 2003-2004 season.

2009

• Linda Lappe was inducted into the Iowa High School Girls’ State Basketball Hall of Fame. Lappe led the Lady Wolves of WMU to back-to-back state titles, a runner-up placing, and the team boasted a 110-3 record during her four years at WMU.

•Larry Fletcher of Crawfordsville has been appointed to the Winfield Library Board.

•Mrs. Mary F. Wintermeyer, age 88, of Winfield died March 6.

2014

•The Winfield-Mt. Union jazz band placed second at the District Jazz Band contest in Iowa City and will compete in the state competition April 8.

•The Winfield Lions Club welcomed two new members, Wanda Jennings and Pastor Randy Moser.

•Irene Pankoke will celebrate her 90th birthday with a card shower on March 20, 2014.
