1994
•The Winfield Fire Department was called to the Everett (Pat) Holtcamp residence at 2710 115th St., Winfield on Sunday, March 6, 1994 where acorn crib was found to be burning. The crib and contents were a total loss.
•Emily Anne fisher was born Saturday, March 5, 1994, to Rod and Sue Fisher of Wapello. Area grandparents are Harold and Eva Weber of Winfield.
•Julia Wesely, Lockridge, and Jeffrey Whitney, Muscatine, announce the marriage of their mother, Rosalie Whitney, Mt. Pleasant, to H.T. Lensgraf, Mt. Union on Saturday, March 5, 1994.
1999
•WMU freshman, Shane Richardson, won one match and lost two at the State Wrestling Tournament.
•The monthlong celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Methodist Church came to a close. A renewal of marriage vows was performed, and 13 couples presented themselves at the altar for the service.
•Keith and Barb Briggs and Laura of Grinnell spent the weekend with Ruth Briggs and took part in the festivities at the church.
2004
•Jason Knipfer placed fourth at 103 in the State Wrestling tournament. Josh Knipfer, twin to Jason, placed sixth at 119 at the State Meet. Nic Chiri, at 140, placed fifth in the State Meet.
•Leon and Kathy Kuehn have a new grandson. Colt William Kuehn was born to Jeff and Gina Kuehn of New Hampton on Jan. 21, 2004.
•Former WMU and University of Iowa basketball standout Jess Settles will be recognized in the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2004.
2009
•Eldon and Lennis Beichter of Crawfordsville announce the engagement of their son Dane to Karina Fabiola Ruiz of California. The groom is a chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy and was a graduate of WMU.
•The WMU boys’ basketball team ended their season with a 59-39 loss to IMS on Feb. 24. R.J. Shoultz led the Wolves with 18 points.
•Ruth Elizabeth Werner, age 80, of Winfield, died Feb. 26, 2009 at her home.
2014
•Named to the SEISC Boys Basketball teams for the 2013-2014 season from WMU were (first team) Max Fricke, (second team) Jake Edwards, (honorable mention) Jach Davis and Garret Baker
