1994
•The WMU Wolves boys’ basketball team finished fourth in the State Basketball Tournament. Klay Edwards was named co-captain of the 1994 All-Tournament Team.
•Courtney Lynn Mace and Tony Lee Davis, both of Winfield, were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield.
•John F. Hasstedt, age 94, died March 3, 1994 at the Ogden Manor.
1999
•Harold and Nola Pine celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on March 23, 1999.
•The Winfield Community Choir presented its Easter Cantata, “Christians Arise and Behold His Glory” on Sunday, March 28.
•Stacie Lynn Newcomb and Brent Lee Venghaus have announced their engagement and upcoming May 29 wedding.
2004
•Lester and Marion (Williams) Jones celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 19, 2004.
•Mary Paisley celebrated her 96th birthday at home with her family.
•Marcy Davis, a junior pitcher/outfielder, is a member of the Central College softball team.
2009
•Irene and Leonard Hesseltine have opened a new business in Wayland. “Just for You” is a gift store located at 110 North Locust St.
•Don and Carolyn Adams went to Morning Sun to help great-grandson, Sheaden Michael Adams, celebrate his second birthday.
2014
•Joan Thompson, member of the Winfield Lions Club, presented a check for $1000 to Jim Scott, Cubmaster of Pack 21. Donations such as this help with pack activities and sending the boys to camp.
•The family of the late Don Adams donated a portion of his memorial funds to the horseshoe pits located in Winfield.
