1994
•As of April 1, 1994, Goff Real Estate will be operated by new owner, Larry Jennings, broker.
•Winfield Fire Department and Henry County Sheriff’s Department answered a 911 call from Winfield Contractors, Inc. to a scene where Andy Dale, age 21, of Wapello was trapped under a uni-loader. Mr. Dale was pronounced dead at the scene.
•Mike Koelker was named Golden Triangle 1994 Coach of the Year.
1999
•Easter Egg Hunt winners were Desi Harris, Kayla Harbison, Brittany Miller, Heather Strums, Kyle Pritchard, Jon Klopfenstein, and Grant Klopfenstein.
•Virgil Dean and Virginia Jean Haines celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 10, 1999 with a family dinner.
•Brianna Kathleen Shelman was born March 11, 1999 to Brian and Kathy Shelman.
2004
•At a meeting held March 18, 2004, it was decided that the Winfield Industrial Development Corporation would pursue the purchase of the building currently owned by Dr. Billy R. Nordyke.
•Several ladies took the weekend off to celebrate the birthdays of twins Karen (Kimble) Jennings and Katie Kimble. Enjoying the trip to Las Vegas were Ronda Redlinger, Robin Therme, Renee Jensen, Laura Mullen, Sharon Johnson, Katie Kimble, Renee Farmer, Karen Jennings, and Patti Haines.
•Eric and Dudley Pankoke hosted a surprise party for their mother, Irene Pankoke, on her 80th birthday.
2009
•At the March meeting, the Winfield-Mt. Union school board voted to separate the positions of Superintendent of Schools and Elementary Principal.
2014
•Members of the WMU choir selected for the SEI Superconference Honor Choir were Brooke Crow, Raelen Gipple, Alisa Worth, Alyssa Carpenter, Kayla Liles, Sarah Rukgaber, Kiersten Dunbar, Hailey Ennis, Shalena Bell, Shey Worth, and Lora Dunbar.
•Farrah Hope Nelson, age 10, has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss Iowa Pageant.to be held May 3 and 4 in Waterloo.
•Dave Smith received a plaque from Todd Spence for retiring after 20 years of service with the Winfield Fire and Rescue.
