2014
•Farrah Nelson received an award for a commercial she was in with Grasshorse Studios. She won an Award of Achievement as Supporting Actress.
•Bradley and Sonja (Driskell) Roth celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 3.
•Lewis D. Nelson, age 81, of Wapello, died April 4, 2014.
•Shelby Therme and Emily Mathews, Winfield-Mt. Union seniors, were invited by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association to participate in the All-Star Game April 6 at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.
2009
•Inducted into the Winfield-Mt. Union National Honor Society for 2009 were Tanner McArtor, Megan Escher, Jordan Krueger, Mustafa Ametov, Kendra Hotop, Lacie Pfeiffer, Elaina Loyd, Hailey Wehage, and Chas Messer.
•WMU sixth-grader Lindsey Schick, and fourth-grader Trey Newton, were recent winners in the “Tri Area Reading Council” writing contest.
•Jim Miller, of Des Moines, is planning to go on a Mission trip to Africa in May. He is a member of the Winfield Open Bible church and is the son of Paul and Barb Miller.
2004
•Sophomore pitcher Trisha Stogdill helped lead Luther to a 6-4.
•Vera Marie Davis, age 93, died March 30, 2004 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.
•Ralph Morris Howell, age 94, died March 25, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
1999
•A rural Crawfordsville home was destroyed by fire April 11. The residence of Scott and Brenna Hamrick was a total loss.
•Company president, Jim Sorenson, announced that Winfield will be the home of a new business, Momentum Golf, Inc., which manufactures a new training golf tool, around the middle of May.
•Elizabeth Ann Johnson, Wapello, and Tanner Jordan Sammons, Winfield, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
1994
•Don and Linda Westercamp were awarded the 1994 honor of being Ambassadors of Winfield.
•Edith Brownell Molander celebrated her 90th birthday with her family at the Swedesburg Parish Hall.
•Jon and Karen (Lindell) Hixson, of Maryville, Missouri, have announced the birth of their new daughter, Sara Nalmi.
