•D & N Fence of Cedar Rapids was in Winfield April 25 to install the new chain link fence at the Winfield Volleyball Park.
•Kathy and Mick Garris enjoyed Easter dinner in the home of Kaleb and Linsey Zimmerman, John and Henry, of Cedar Falls.
2009
•Two years ago when Personal Form II, owned by Deb Blevins, closed, a group of ladies from the Winfield area purchased the equipment. The business has now replaced some of the equipment.
2004
•Megan Carr received first place in the Des Moines Regional Open Bible Music Festival in the female solo vocal division.
•Emerson Krabill, age 88, of the White Oak Community died April 16 at Arbor Court.
•Five WMU elementary students were invited to attend the Iowa State Invention Convention. They were sixth-graders Grand Klopfenstein and Derek Richards; fifth-graders Megan Escher and Elaina Loyd; and fourth-grader Jon Klopfenstein.

•Jean Glenn, age 78, formerly of Winfield, died April 22, 1999, at Fernandina Beach, Florida.
•Leon Rossiter was given an award from the Garst Seed Company for using Garst 8481IT, which yielded a winning bushel per acre. He received an expense-paid trip to Las Vegas.

•Irene Johnson, Chair of the Crooked Creek Day, has announced plans are definite for an omelet breakfast on May 14.

•Dr. Paul Klopfenstein has joined Dr. F.D. Gipple in his veterinary practice at Crawfordsville.
•Laura Parcell has been awarded the Daniel Coe Award from Coe College.
