2009
Selected as the Ambassadors for the 2009 Crooked Creek Days were the Klopfenstein siblings, Joe, Klopfenstein, Bill Klopfenstein, Alice Klopfenstein Trees, and the late Phil Klopfenstein.
Ginny Sparrow graduated from Kirkwood Community College with an AAS in Nursing.
WMU senior Grant Edwards was named to the North Team All-Southeast Iowa Superconference Baseball first team. Seniors Jake Tolander and Gaige Gill received honorable mention.
2004
The Feldman sisters, Wahneetah and Virgie, have been chosen as the 2004 Grand Marshalls for Crooked Creek Days.
The State Library of Iowa has announced that Michele Thomas of the Winfield Public Library has completed all requirements for public librarian certification.
Pilot Grove Savings Bank donated $2500 to the Winfield Community Clinic.
Tory Olson has been named to the Luther College Dean’s List for the 2003-2004 spring semester. She is the daughter of Gayle and Jeff Olson.
1999
Awards were given to the following Sunrise Terrace employees for their years of service: Kathy Rummelhart, Peggy Beaty, Freida Thomas, Vivian Thomas, Brenda Gott, Nancy Hartman, Pauline Richardson, Pam Johnson, and Rhonda Connop.
Named to the All-Conference softball team were: First team, Ashley Wilkerson; Second team, Marcy Davis; Honorable mention, Jeni Crawford.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Long of Winfield celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Brad Buffington was selected to play in the All-Star Shrine Football Classic.
Amy June Hoenig and Randy Todd Duttweiler have announced their engagement and approaching August 6 wedding.
Jeff Allbaugh won the Club Championship for the fourth time with rounds of 33-35-34-104.
1989
The Road Runner uptown will have new owners, Gary and Cleda Crill, taking over on August 15.
Tom Rodruck and his family attended the 1989 National Wheelchair Games in Cupertino, California. Tom received a gold in the shot put, discus, and javelin.
Sandra Johnson and Harry Mabeus were united in marriage on July 1.
1984
Brian Bergstrom was Club Champion at Twin Lakes Country Club. Second place was Terry Cornick, third was Barry Evans, and fourth went to Paul Wilderson.
Vera Mae Tolander, age 87, died July 24 at Morning Sun Manor.
