Air Force Airman Aaron Buffington graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
2009
The Winfield Fire and Rescue Unit and Olds Fire Department answered a call Aug. 10, 2009 to the Ron Pinney home of rural Winfield. The home was severely damaged by the fire.
2004
Norm Walter donated a solid oak round table he made to be auctioned off at Crooked Creek Days, with proceeds to go to the Winfield Community Clinic.
Robert and Carol Totemeier observed their 60th wedding anniversary on July 28, 2004.

Groundbreaking at Open Bible Church was held Aug. 15, 1999 for their new additions.
Vince Klopfenstein has been named to the First Team All-State as a utility player in baseball.
1994
The Mt. Union Fire Department was called to the Bub Krieger farm for a barn fire. The barn was smoking with an interior fire and a fire was on the west roof. Winfield Fire Department was called to assist.
Krista Jennings and Jeff Hagge were united in marriage on June 25, 1994, at the Winfield United Methodist Church.
Berl B. Beaman, age 46, died July 31, 1994, at his home in Winfield.

American Legion Post #643, of Winfield, invited veterans and friends to a potluck supper on Aug. 28 to honor the 70-year membership of Lloyd Lindell.
