2009
Cory Reynolds of Winfield has been accepted for enrollment at Coe College in Cedar Rapids. He is the son of Rodney and Janet Reynolds.
Air Force Col. John P. Montgomery has assumed command of the 98th Range Wing at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the son of Barbara Ann Rossitier of Winfield.
2004
Sunrise Terrace Care Center honored Vivian Fowler with a silver clock and cake in recognition of her 25 years of service.
Colleen Milder was recognized for her 20 years of service at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in various capacities in the nursing and activity departments.
Treva Hultquist, age 74, of rural Winfield, died Sept. 3, 2004, at her home.
1999
William and Marjorie Carden will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 12, 1999. Their children are Terry and Ruth Carden, and Carolyn and Don Hagge, all of Winfield.
Ted Anderson was honored on his 93rd birthday Sept. 3 with a party given by his daughter.
Guests at the home of Kathryn McCosh over the weekend were Mrs. Wanda Eyler, Tucson, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Eyler, Des Moines; and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Eyler and Stacy of Menosha, Wisconsin. They were in the area attending a shower for a Lauer relative at the New London Country Club.
1994
Miles Edward and Barbara Lucille Jackson Shelman, rural Winfield, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Sept. 9, 1994. They are the parents of Miles Keith Shelman of Mt. Pleasant; Kenneth Shelman of Olds; Jeanine Shelman-Ward of Bondurant; and the late Michael Shelman. They also have seven grandchildren.
1989
Tom Rodruck, son of Larry and Sue Rodruck, received notification that he has been chosen as one of 32 athletes to represent the United States at the World Disability Games. They will be held in Miami, Florida in December.
Les and Fran Lowe will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Sept. 23, 1989, with an open house at the Indian Hills Country Club.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Briggs returned home from a week’s vacation. They spent two days in St. Joseph Co. Michigan and visited the Ford Museum and Greenfield Village at Dearborn and the House on the Rock in Wisconsin.
