Thayne McElhinney and Lou Krieger-Coen were crowned King and Queen for WMU’s 2014 Homecoming.
Adwin L. Hesseltine, formerly of Winfield, and Amanda L. Auger, of Davenport, joined together in marriage on Aug. 9, 2014.
Hazel Maude Cisna, age 102, of Winfield, died July 24, 2014, in her home at Westview Apartments.

Keith and Mary Kongable’s farm near Winfield has been selected as “The Prettiest Place in the Country” in the October/November issue of Farm and Ranch Living magazine.
The sixth-ranked Wolves only had to play two full quarters and a portion of the third to defeat the Midland Eagles 52-0 under the 50-point mercy rule.

Elbert Dwight Snell, age 90, died Sept. 25, 1994, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
William “Bill” Minnis, age 73, died Sept. 25, 1994, at the Morning Sun Care Center.
Mark McCreight was presented with a plaque for 28 years of service to the Winfield Fire Department.

Terri Jo Peters and Gregory John Townsend were married at the First Presbyterian Church on Sept. 9.
Liz Wasson recently successfully completed the final course of the Iowa Realtors Institute.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sharp recently observed their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at the Vet’s Building in Winfield.

1984 WMU Homecoming Queen candidates were Diane Venghous, Michelle Ingwersen, Mary Kay Humphreys, Jenna Krieger, Kim Hagge and Jackie Johnson. King candidates were Karl Loibl, Mike Johnson, Jeff Beaman, Tony Canby, Darin Fricke, and Kevin Cline.
Mr. and Mrs. Terry Knipfer celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
