The Winfield Fire & Rescue Unit was presented with a check for $1000 from Jennifer Huston, representing the Winfield Crooked Creek Day Committee.
Kyle Hudson, age 53, of Winfield, died Oct. 12, 2014, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.
2009
Eight people will begin EMS training to join the Winfield Fire and Rescue Unit. They are Amy Liles, Jan Reynolds, Savannah Finnell, Casey Broeker, Cathy Eaton, Joe Liles, Jeff Dietrich, and Renee Quinn.
Josh Sparrow was named Winfield’s Fireman of the Year at Winfield’s annual chili supper.

Raelynn Huff and Bryant Evans were named WMU 2004 Homecoming King and Queen.
Miles D. Shelman, age 97, of rural Winfield, died Oct. 2, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Judy Anderson was named the 1999 Fireperson of the Year.
Junior and Caroline Mullen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Oct. 31.
Dick and Maribeth Nelson celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at Dick’s parents’ home in rural Winfield. Their parents, Harley and Myrtha Nelson, and Gerald and Verena Buffington, both celebrate their 61st wedding anniversaries this year.

Thomas and Margaret Kaut have been chosen for the September “Yard of the Month.”
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Unkrich celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 15, 1994.
Lisa and Kenyon Ott of Fort Madison are the parents of a baby girl. Sarah Elizabeth Ott was born Oct. 1, 1994.
Grace L. Underwood, age 93, died Sept. 29, 1994.

Mrs. Hazel Conard died on Sept. 28, 1984.
