Joshua Reno Schaefer and Erin Denise Redlinger were married June 28, 2014, at an outdoor ceremony in Winfield. Erin is the daughter of Randy and Ronda Redlinger of Winfield.
2009
With the termination of Mt. Union’s EMT Unit of their Fire Department, they have decided to donate their AED, Automatic External Defibrillator, to the Winfield Police Department.

Iowa National Guard 224th Engineer Battalion departed for an 18-month tour of duty in the Middle East.
The WMU Wolves picked up their first win of the season, 21-7, over Green Mountain-Garwin.
WMU football cheerleaders this season are Hannah Floyd, Katy Harvey, Brianne Nicholson, Nicole Wyss, and Krista Sterner.

Costume winners at the annual City Council wiener roast were: First prize to Ashley Spence, Second to Emily Lensgraf, and Third to Drew Walter.
Tony Eric Bunker and Linda Marie LeBel were married Oct. 2 in a double wedding with Linda’s sister, Jaimie Rebecca Robinson and Luis Fernando Vazquez Martinez. Tony is the grandson of Frances Schwartz of Winfield.
Sarah Beth Tandy was honored as a bridal shower on Nov. 1. Hostesses were Carrie Crull, Courtney Davis, and Holly Sobrack.

Lt. Rick Mullen was named Winfield Fireman of the Year during their annual chili supper.
Kimberly Smith and Michael Johnston have announced their engagement and approaching marriage of Oct. 29 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Burlington.
Drew Michael Merideth was born to Jeff and Donna Merideth of Moline, Illinois on Oct. 15, 1994.

Darin Lintz was named Most Valuable Player for the WMU-MS Wolves 1989 football team.
Members of the state-recognized varsity football cheerleading squad were Jennifer Roederer, Tonya Hardy, Lisa Larson, Amy Morse, Amber Binkele, Shari Carden, and Brandi Byrum.

Tornado-like winds whipped through the area causing damage at the Winfield press box, Dale Johnson garage, Davis Welding, and McKasson-Honts Funeral Home garage.

Neighbors combined 220 acres of beans for Mrs. Harold (Frances) Seyb. They started at noon and were done by 3 p.m.
The Wel-Come Inn in Winfield has been sold by Mrs. Kenneth Maxwell to Mrs. Vera Tesdahl.
