Shelly Kongable, owner of K&B Repair in Winfield has announced she has hired Ross Buffington as shop manager effective Oct. 25.
Carlotta J. Kelley, age 54, of rural Winfield, died Oct. 24, 2004, at the University of Iowa Health Center in Iowa City.
Seniors Kiely Carlson, Erin Redlinger, Missy McElhinney, Raelynn Huff, and Amanda Richardson finished their WMU volleyball careers with a combined 10 varsity letters, five all-conference awards, two individual season records, two individual career records, and a 1000 assist milestone.

Results of Winfield’s city council election: Chris Finnell, 107; Richard Hand, 123; and Richard Lauderdale, 115. Larry Jennings was unopposed for the mayoral position and received 139 votes.
WMU defeated Pleasantville, 41-28, to earn a trip to the “Dome.”
Sarah Beth Tandy of Winfield, and Daniel J. Schurr of Dickens, have announced their engagement and upcoming Nov. 26, 1999 wedding.
Jim and Cindy Hinckley are the parents of a new baby boy. Landon James was born Oct. 18, 1999.

Carrie Steele of WMU qualified for the Class 1A girls state cross-country meet for the third consecutive year by placing eighth at the district meet in Tipton.

Russell Beauchamp, age 85, of Winfield, died Oct. 20, 1994, at his home in rural Winfield.
