At approximately 2 a.m. on Jan. 11, 2015, a resident on the north side of Winfield called 911 after he woke up to his dog barking and found a 20-30-year-old male coming through his sliding glass door. When confronted the man ran away.
2005
Former WMU player and coach, John Snyder, has recently been selected by the Region One Indiana Football Coaches Association to represent the north squad in the annual north/south all-star football game in July.
Ice caused part of a tree to fall over, striking the home of Mark and Barb Hamilton.

The Winfield Fire Department was called to the Sonny Bunker home, 402 E. Wallace, where fire of an undetermined origin damaged the playroom.
William McKasson and wife, Lucille, have announced the sale of the Barton-McKasson Funeral Home in Winfield to Michael J. Honts and his wife, Sherry.

Kathleen Sue Rodgers and Randy Dean Seberg were united in Marriage on Dec. 27, 1974.
